Clean air in hospital rooms (e.g. operating theatres, endoscopy theatres or sterilisation rooms) is one of the elements of health safety for the patient staying in such units. In order to effectively reduce the risk of infection, the air in hospital rooms (especially operating theatres) should have up to several hundred times lower concentrations of microbiological contaminants than outdoor air or air in living rooms.

Air quality tests are performed in accordance with the “Guidelines for the Design, Execution, Acceptance and Operation of Ventilation and Air-Conditioning Systems for Entities Performing Medical Activities” recommended by the Ministry of Health.

We offer:

Microbiological testing of air in hospital rooms;
Microbiological testing of air in ventilation ducts;
Testing for the presence of Legionella sp. in the air;
Investigations into the concentration of particulate matter in the air.

Air testing methods:

  • Microbiological testing – collision method: forced settling of microorganisms on the surface of a culture medium by means of an apparatus which sucks in a defined volume of air – parameters to be determined: total number of microorganisms, number of yeasts and moulds, number of Legionella sp;
  • Testing of particle concentration in the air – measurement with a particle counter: providing real-time measurement of particles with diameters from 0.3µm to 10.0µm per unit volume of air.

As part of our offer, we will provide you with a comprehensive service: sample collection, transport and laboratory analysis.
