A basic step leading to increased safety for people using potentially infected rooms (hospital rooms) is their regular cleaning and disinfection. However, disinfection alone may not be sufficient – verification of the effectiveness of the measures taken is crucial.<\/p>\n

In order to confirm the effectiveness of the hospital’s disinfection and cleaning procedures or to monitor compliance of cleaning practices with the relevant hospital procedures, it is suggested that periodic testing of the microbiological cleanliness of surfaces – swabs or impressions of surfaces – be carried out.<\/p>\n
